A Brush with Desire Stella approached the window cautiously; the wind blew the silk curtains around mysteriously. Slowly, slowly until she was nearly there and touching them. She threw them open with quick force, and gazed out into the dark. No one was there. She looked around uneasily, and closed the curtains.
Then she heard it--behind her. Stella turned around swiftly, and suddenly he was there before her, so close their lips almost touched. She let out a terrified gasp that was bordering on a scream, as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her back to him.
Before she could utter a word they were locked in a fierce kiss. She struggled to free herself, but she could feel his grasp tightening, his hand slid down her arm, touched her neck; all her greatest fears and desires overwhelmed her.
A Dark Abyss She entered the dark abyss; chills ran through her, the usual sparkle in her blue eyes slowly disappeared. Forward she went, the leaves rustled underneath her, blown about by a cold breeze. Long vines hung down, bordered the pathway, low and sweeping. Strung around arches and twisted about the old, crumbling pillars; they leaned lifelessly against the cold stone. The whole place breathed and whispered horrid things in her ears, filling her mind with death and despair.
